Outside My Window...I'm not sure what kind of bush it is that is growing as a hedge around the front window of our house which also happens to be the window of this office I'm typing in, but the fucia colored flowers that were so brightly covering the bush this spring are now crunchy and nearly black thanks to the 115 degree summer heat! The sky is blue and there's barely a breeze moving the palm leaves across the street in my neighbor's yard.
I am thinking... I want to walk by the Spirit, by faith today, not by my feelings which I've been doing a lot of lately!
I am thankful for... the provider that God has provided me in my husband! Lord, bless his every endeavor, but mostly Lord, please reveal Yourself to him today! May he look back on this day and see that You were with him even then and that You were drawing him.
From the kitchen... Oatmeal with raisins, butter and brown sugar with a handful of chopped almonds for breakfast for me and daddy, Honey Bunches of Oats for the boys. Tuna sandwiches with a slice of pineapple for lunch. Pasta salad with grilled chicken for dinner (salad and chicken already made... so I guess it's leftovers, but it's one of those foods that tastes better leftover).
I am wearing... My gym clothes and will slip into my denim capris with flip flops and a cool top when we get home.
I am creating... Nothing right now. I'd like to purchase the supplies to build a birdfeeder with my boys. I think I'll do that tomorrow.
I am going... to fax a form to order original copies of birth certificates for my boys which I just realized the other day I do not have. I thought I had them, but after thinking about it I realized, "I don't think I ever ordered those when the boys were born!" I need them to get the homeschool affidavit complete. So one errand has led to another. And ordering them online, led to another, since they won't send them to you until you fax them a photo ID page. So we'll be doing that today after we ride our bikes to the gym and home. I'll also send off some cards that are late and go to the pool this afternoon with the boys. I'm working with my 5 year old to prepare him for a kids triathalon in July. Oh, I also am going to call the phone company to figure out why the sudden increase in fees...FUN! NOT! Not my favorite thing to do! :(
I am reading... The Normal Christian Life by Watchman Nee. It's soooooo refreshing to my spirit, reminding me of the foundational truths which my life of faith is built upon.
I am hoping... to continue reading through the Bible today- I'm in 2 Kings. And to continue reading some of the Normal Christian Life. I'm also hoping to be a good model of faith in Christ to my boys today.
I am hearing... my 3 year old saying, "Mom, you need to put my udder sue on." And Sesame Street in the background.
Around the house... The floors need to be swept and carpet needs to be vacuumed along with the dusting that needs to be done. And that reminds me, I spent about an hour scrubbing the grout last week with the boys and we got the whole kitchen done. I think we'll do another hour today too doing the halls and entry.
One of my favorite things... Visiting with another woman who loves the Lord and listening to her struggles and things she's learning.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Well, I've already posted many of them in the above lines. But in list form:
- * Take the stray cat we've been feeding that's tearing up our whether stripping on the front door with her claws to the cat rescue clinic, and pray she'll get placed in a good home.
- * Ride bikes to the gym daily and take Sunday off.
- * Work on my 5 year old's swimming at least 3 times this week.
- * Get all the grout scrubbed.
- * Build a bird feeder with my boys
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
Isn't this funny? A cactus growing out of a palm tree!? I took this picture in Wickenburg, Arizona- about an hour's drive from me.

Sheila, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Your blog posts always feel as though I've sat down & chatted with you! I hope you have a great week, Leslie
Pineapple on tuna, I've never tried that.
I have cleaned the grout in the kitchen and need to work on a couple of places in the breakfast area and around the back door.
I hate doing service calls, too. Lot's of being put on hold.

I loved reading this! :) It seems like a wonderful example of "praying continually." Thanks!

Sheila, thank you for dropping a note at my blog. As I looked and felt the energy of hundreds of youth last night, I knew they are our future and realized the awesome responsibility we have as parents to raise a generation that seeks Him above all.
Blessings,
Sita
What a privilege it is share thoughts and dreams with like-minded spiritually seeking people everywhere. The internet can be a source of evil, but likewise it can be a source for the Angels of Heaven to work through. .
blessings!

I love listening to stories too! Much is to be learned from such experiences and even mistakes.
I still haven't written a daybook, you keep reminding me with these posts! The cactus growing out of the tree cracks me up! What an unlikely looking pair.
That picture is so neat!
I loved reading your daybook entry. I've missed doing these the past couple of weeks and can't wait to get back to them.
I enjoyed your Daybook. Nice to 'meet' you!
I think we have a copy of "The Normal Christian Life" somewhere - I'll look.
Enjoy your day, and come by and see my Daybook.
